10 Book Series that I have never started though I do want to read them

I know there is a Top 10 Meme every Tuesday but I can never think of anything for the list when it goes up or I just forget about it on Tuesday.  So I am doing a 10 list whenever I feel like it over any topic from her past and future topics that interest me.

So if you want to view other Top 10 Lists go and visit The Broke and the Bookish they have some great Top 10 list ideas to do if you are interested.

And This is one that caught my interest when I was having a conversation at work with a guy who loves the show Game of Thrones.  Now first I do not have the HBO channel at my house, we do not watch enough TV to get us to pay the cost of getting the channel when we can watch the movies we want to watch on Netflix cheaper.  But I realized there are plenty of series made into movies/TV shows and some that are not that I have never started and I have always had on my TBR list.

10.  Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire Series)

This is one of those series that are blowing up the Internet.  Whether it is the books or the TV Show everyone is interested in it.  Since I do not have HBO I have not had a chance to get interested in the show, but I do want to see what all the hype is about and at least read the first book.

9.  Percy Jackson and the Olympians

I have seen the first movie in this series and I loved it, but I have this feeling that I will not like the movie after reading the book.  Though I do want to read them, I have yet to do it, I even own the first few.

8.  Sookie Stackhouse

Another series I have never read is the Sookie Stackhouse series that the TV Show True Blood is based on.  Another HBO show that I can not watch for my lack of the channel and partly I do not care as I have seen the first season (I bought it on DVD) and I thought it was  good.  Actually I thought the show had ended as I really do not see anything about it too much but turns out it does still come on the world of HBO is over run by Game of Thrones for me to notice it any more.

7.  Outlander

My cousin's wife said I would enjoy this series (she has read all of them I think from her sisters recommendation) and I do own the first book on my nook but have never actually started it.

6.  Bloodlines

I had read the first book in Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy so I think their is a good chance of liking this one.  I even was given the third book in the series from a friend at work but I have never read any of the series.

5.  Uglies

Seen the reviews just never had the time to pick it up (I had even at one time had it checked out from the library but never actually started reading it.)

4.  Lord of the Rings

I see all these people I know who just love these books and I keep thinking there is no way I will love them like that.  I will admit I did love the movies but that was also during my Orlando Bloom days and there is no way a girl will not love a movie that stars him and Elijah Wood.  And yes that was back in High School for me so it was really a good crush where you write all over your folder "I Love Orlando Bloom" or even "Mrs. Orlando Bloom".  Actually I don't think I did that.

3.  Maximum Ride

James Patterson is a great author, I loved The Women's Murder Club but I have the fondness of just solving those mysteries could another series ruin that for me?  But the description has caught my eye and I am interested in reading this series just never got around to doing that.

2.  The Infernal Devices

That is right I have not read this, though I am making plans too.  But wait til you see #1 you may really hate me for not having started it just yet.

1.  The Mortal Instruments

So this is why I never started the Infernal Devices I had not yet read the Mortal Instruments series.  I know they are separate series and don't need to be read in order of release but I am kinda crazy about a few things like that.

So there you go 10 series I have shown interest in reading but never actually started.

Which of these series should I start first? Which is not on here that you would add for yourself?

Movie: Agent Cody Banks

Another Saturday, another movie.  This time I went old school (prior to graduation from High School for me).  This movie stars my favorite Disney Star, yeah there were people before Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez and some of the rocked.  Lets guess who this movie stars:

Hilary Duff

If you happened to guess Hilary Duff from Lizzie McGuire you would be correct.  So I went with a theme this week (and for the next 2 weeks following) we are watching movies that have to do with spying and stealing.  Starring Hilary Duff and Frankie Muniz I have come across in my massive DVD collection (by the way there are plenty I could watch a movie a day all year and still not finish them all):

Agent Cody Banks, I watched this movie back when I was still in High School when it first came out.  This is a great movie on teen spies.  Very quirky but I loved quirky then and I love it now.  Personally I do not care if my little brother tells me a movie is stupid and should never have been made (yes I have one of those as a younger brother).

This movie reminds me a lot of the Gallagher Girls Series, they are secretly trained to be a spy and have no clue on how to act around or talk to the opposite sex. Instead of being taught during the school year kids are picked to attend a special camp which trains teens to work for the CIA and Cody Banks was one of those lucky teens.   But not knowing how to talk to his target (Hilary Duff) makes his handler's (Angie Harmon from Rizzoli and Isles) much more difficult.  And for anyone wanting to see what a CIA operative does not wear at every turn take a look at what Angie Harmon wears through out the movie.

I love the technology used in this movie (though I do hope bad guys really do not have this type of technology somewhere).  Nano's that can eat you from the inside out put into ice cubes may keep you from drinking anything with ice for a good long while.  But I also loved the holographic phone they used (one day I will get myself one of those).

There are plenty of things to like about this cheesy movie but when you are a 17 year old girl you can like whatever you like and if you still at 17 like cheesy movies about spies you can still like them.

Review: Heist Society by Ally Carter

Title: Heist Society
Author: Ally Carter
Series: Heist Society Book #1
Published: Hyperion 2010

When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her on a trip to the Louvre…to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria…to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own—scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving “the life” for a normal life proves harder than she’d expected.
Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring Kat back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has a good reason: a powerful mobster has been robbed of his priceless art collection and wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help.
For Kat, there is only one solution: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully just enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family's history--and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way.

MY REVIEW

This is the second time tjat I read this book and even though I already know what is going to happen I am still immersed into the world of Kat and Hale.  The girl who wants to be a normal teenager and the boy who has been normal and wants to be a part of a family.

The internal struggle of Katarina Bishop is a big one.  Growing up in a family of thieves is something you can't fully leave but Kat planned too.  When Kat comes back to save her dad the leaving hurts in statements of "You left" from family and friends.  Then there is the struggle of not wanting to be a thief, but having to do the biggest job of her life to keep her friends and family safe.

There are some great moments that leave you wondering what happened.  Like what happened between Kat and Hale when Kat tried to steal the Monet?

(Don't spoil me, I know that it is mentioned in book 3: Perfect Scoundrels.)
Then there is the relationship with the son of the Interpol agent tracking her father, Nick, where is that going to lead to if anything.  Or is the love for Kat going to be Hale the boy that was home when she tried to steal the Monet?  Personally I have made my choice on which relationship I have chosen for Kat, but I am interested in which you have chosen if you had read the books of the series (just remember I am not interested in being spoiled on upcoming events just yet).

I just love this line.  It has to be my favorite in the whole book.

Q: Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.

If you happen to follow me on Instagram you saw me post a picture of the book that I am currently reading with a little caption over what it reminds me of.  No it is not a new book but I have not really been reading anything brand new since starting this project.

There is a cute sneak peek into what I am thinking and feeling about this book right now.  I am thinking how much I miss watching Firefly and how I need to go and find the DVD collection.

Review: Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy by Ally Carter

Title: Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy
Author: Ally Carter
Publisher: Hyperion
Source: Yep I bought it for my love of Ally Carter books

Cammie Morgan is back, and it's clear that her life hasn't calmed down since the events of I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You. At first, giddy anticipation is in the air. Gallagher Academy, Cammie's elite spy school, is hosting a visit from a covert training center for boys. Soon after the boys' arrival, though, everything goes dangerously awry when a series of security breaches are discovered at the academy. Worse yet, teenage agent-in-training Cammie is being blamed for the penetration. With the school's top-secret status at risk, the Gallagher Girls have to work quickly to save their beloved school.
The Gallagher Girls are back with their second book ad it is just as boy crazy spy filled as the first.

In the first book the girls got caught sneaking out to learn about the mystery of boys, one in particular Josh.  This turns out to be eye opening for everyone involved.

So when the school brings in the Boys from Blackthrone things get interesting.  The mysterious school fro training boys that the girls had heard a rumor of but never had any proof, well the proof had caught all but one of them going to a secret meeting location and know were coming to school with them.

So the girls are back to spying on boys with a little more information than "does he like me? " in mind.  They need to know who and what these boys are that are taking over their school.

This book holds the first meeting of Zach  Goode the Blackthorn boy that holds Cammie's attention.  She does not know what it is that makes her like him, but she know that she can not trust him as he is lying about something and ever since the boys arrived there have been some strange things happening with the security.

Cammie has probably met her match with Zach and a good match it is.

Ally Carter brought the Gallagher Girls back with an amazing story that keeps you questioning if the Backthrone boys are the good guys or the bad guys.  Even if you can actually trust them.  I love Cammie and Zach and can't wait to tell you more.
